Mr . Dabre Saramane, Founder Ceo DFS International

I created this organization. Born in Ehania , Dabre ( Founder -CEO)grew up in Aboisso , southeast region of Cote-dIvoire where he started his first humanitarian activity as a volunteer by helping nuns to feed orphans and streets children.Mr Dabre moved to his home country Burkina Faso after his high school degree to continue his studies on geography department at the University Joseph Ki Zerbo of Ouagadougou in 2004 . Dabre engaged himself as volunteer teacher in vocational high schools training centers for underprivileged or marginalized children for six years . In contact with these student,Dabre has learned many stories from the students ,So Dabre decided to go in the field to learn more and explore what he can do.He has worked for several humanitarian organizations and occupied different positions of responsibility’s activities in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Burkina Faso for eighteen years . But one of his motivation’s came from the story of Alima . Dabre met Alima during one of missions who was a mother of six children, she has been forced to abandon her dream to become judge one day because her father owns fifty dollars (50) to one of rich man in their village and after her father passed away , her family could not pay back mister Salfo , her husband. Alima was very motivated and smart student .We have met in the street and she right away ask me for help and I was thinking that she was the king of girl who always begging for money, but I was wrong. She just want to share her wishes with me. And then Alima with all her heart ,started talking about all the problems the villagers were facing .

The only one borehole in the village was not working for two years and the villagers walked more than thirteen miles every day to reach the closest borehole. Did you see the school under hut before you entered into the village? It has been built by the villagers themselves but a Snake bit one kid during the class and when it’s raining, there is no class. Let me tell you this , two years ago our government has decided to build six classrooms and just after the construction, all the school collapsed because of wind and rain . Thank God there was not any kid inside otherwise it would have been catastrophic for us .Tired , lost and depressed, Alima confessed me straight in this word :”I have heard that you works for humanitarian organizations, so I want to promises me that you will do everything to avoid everything that happens to me and my parents . I know that my life is over and there is no change for me anymore in this life but I want you to do everything you can to avoid my daughters, my sons and all other people the same problems that we have today . I don’t want them to feel the same pain , please! I know you can do it and you will , and thank you and thank you to everyone in this world who will work with you no matter how and who . And God bless all of you!”

DFS International Core Competences

DFS International supports people in acquiring specialist knowledge, skills and management expertise. We help organizations, public authorities and private businesses to optimize their organizational, managerial and production processes. And, of course, we advise governments on how to achieve objectives and implement nationwide change processes by incorporating them into legislation and strategies. The political and social framework plays a crucial role in ensuring reforms are effective and sustainable. Without an enabling environment, changes remain superficial and have no real impact in the medium term.

This all calls for capacities and experience in a wide variety of areas: health, legal affairs, public finance, communications, organizational development, education and training. But that in itself is not enough. Long-term impact can only be achieved if all activities and strategies are efficiently coordinated and stakeholders in all sectors are adequately consulted. If a country is to take charge of its own destiny in the long term, it must be able to organize complex processes and foster an enabling environment without external assistance. This involves developing the capacities of individuals, organizations and social institutions. At DFS International , capacity development is about strengthening partners and tapping potentials. This is the key to sustainable development.

Management

The Chief Executive Officer is the chief body responsible for the coordination and management of individual country missions and DFS international global strategy. This body provides the highest level of public representation for the organization, closely following the day to day actions of DFS International field teams and responding to the most urgent needs as these arise. The role of the Chief Executive Officer also extends to coordinating the entire DFS International network (including OXUS, Convergences, etc.), at the global level, and reporting on all activities to DFS International governing bodies and members.

DFS International Program Department oversees the support and monitoring of all projects executed by DFS International in-country teams, often contributing to dialogue between the organization and donors. The Program Department also plays a central role in shaping the deployment of DFS International’s technical staff to bolster in-country expertise in specific sectors ( Education, Healthcare System, WASH, child protection, agriculture, etc.) and tracking appraisal, monitoring and evaluation activities to both gauge project impacts and ensure the transmission of good practices and lessons learned into future interventions.

The Human Resources Department manages the recruitment, administration and follow-up of DFS international staff, in addition to monitoring in-country recruitment. Three departments based in DFS International ‘s HQ in Ouagadougou (capital of Burkina Faso)are responsible for the day-to-day follow-up of projects. This includes the Program Department; the Finance Department and the Logistics Department, the latter of which supports logistical, operational and purchasing functions in-country.

DFS International’s Security and Safety Department provides support to in-country teams in the analysis of risks present within DFS International’s current and forecast operational contexts. In coordination with country directors and safety focal points, the Security and Safety Department oversees and monitors the implementation of risk prevention and contingency measures, adapting these to local contexts to ensure project teams can both live in safety and maximize their access to operational areas to facilitate effective programming.

The Audit Department ensures that all DFS International teams and project partners comply with DFS International’s administrative, financial, logistical, operational and security procedures, while also supporting teams on the regular in-country auditing executed by international donors. Given its past experience, DFS International ‘s mission today is to contribute its breadth of knowledge to the ongoing discussions and debates taking place within the humanitarian sector. DFS International remains fully committed to developing and supporting new initiatives within the framework of its Development Department.

The Communication Department contributes to both the in-country visibility of DFS International’s work, the helping to improve access by maintaining positive community relationships, as well as fulfilling DFS International’s obligation to keep governments, donors, NGO partners and the wider public aware of our work. Through such efforts, DFS International contributes to the sensitization of the public to the various humanitarian contexts in which we work, helping us to invigorate wider societal support for our work.
